Disciplines and Training Groups

Sprints & Hurdles

Andrew Griffiths, Tony Morris & Dai Williams (UKA qualified coach)
These guys specialise in sprint hurdles, distance hurdles and 400m. They all train at the same time to get the most of their athletes.

Mondays: 6:30pm- 8:00pm
Thursdays: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Saturdays: 9:30am – 11:00am

Judith Gooding (UKA qualified coach)
Judith specialises in 100m/200m and has helped plenty of our athletes improve their speed and ability.

Tuesdays: 6:30pm – 8:00pm
Thursdays: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

If you have competed before in 60/100m before and want to improve your ability then Rob is your guy!

Middle Distance

This group is for 800m athletes who benefit from speed and endurance style training.

Kevin Tobin (UKA qualified coach)
This group is one of the largest competitive distance groups in Swansea. Kevin offers a variety of training from middle distance to long distance. This group also caters for, and offers a high level of, cross country training during the winter months. 
Tuesdays: 6:00pm-8:00pm

Saturdays: 9:00am-11:00am

Long Distance & Cross Country

Long Distance Uni Group
This is our student led group who offer a variety of road, track and cross country training. It is a fun and chilled group for athletes who want to get involved in the club but not feel pressured to compete at BUCS. 

Tuesdays - 6pm - 8:00pm
Thursdays - 6pm - 8:00pm

No need to let us know you want join this group in advance, just meet us outside the pavilion at 6pm

Throws
 

Pedyr Roberts (UKA qualified coach)
Want to improve your throwing ability? Then Pedyr is your guy, he covers all throws and provides quality coaching.

Jumps
 

Jane Hosgood (Pole Vault) (UKA qualified coach)
Jane is our Pole Vault coach and she takes anyone and everyone from beginners to high level athletes. Her group has a range of quality athletes so you’ll be pushed to your very best.

Monday - 5:30pm - 6:30pm (Beginner Session)

Tuesday - 6:00pm - 8:00pm (Open to All)
Thursday - 6:00pm - 7:00pm (Experienced Athletes)
Sunday - 11:00am - 1:00pm (Elite and Senior Athletes

Social Running

This brand new group allows for everyone to get involved.

This year we are running a University social running group that both students and University staff can join where you can meet like-minded people and just run. It’s that simple, no obligation to compete, focus on times or run hard. This group is all about running and enjoying it!

All session are organised and led by a qualified coach and experienced runners. Please note the runs will vary between 5-10km but you can run further if you wish. 

We meet every Monday & Thursday at 5.30pm 

Just £1 a session (your first session is FREE!!)
