14-strong team selected to compete at the BUCS Cross Country Championships
Swansea University Athletics & Cross Country Club will be sending a 14-strong men's and women's team to the BUCS Cross Country Championships on Saturday 1st February 2020. Some of the top University athletes will be going head to head with our team hoping to bring back vital BUCS points.
After a dominate performance so far in the Gwent League, leading the University table by over 100 points and consistently beating some of the larger clubs in the main table, the men's team is looking strong to achieve their goal of earning BUCS team points in the A race for the first time in over 10 years.
Cross Country Captain, Conor Smith, who has two years experience competing at BUCS Championship level and a National vest under his belt, will be leading the team on the day. Alongside him will be fresher Daniel Brookling who was the first Swansea athlete home at the selection meeting last month, GB runner Alfred Yabsley, 2018 South of England XC Champion Elliot Dee and previous BUCS athletes Lewis Sternkopk and Conrad Webber.
The Women's team includes veteran club runner and national athlete Abigayle Goodrick-Latham, Nancy Jones, Ellie Hathaway and Josie Marinho. You can see the full team list below:
