WELSH VARSITY CHAMPIONS 2018 & 2019
Swansea University Athletics & Cross Country Club is one of the largest sporting clubs in Swansea University. The club currently has over 80 members, six of which currently have Welsh, English, Scottish or GB vests, and two high profile Alumni. We currently attend a variety of competitions throughout the year including track events such as South West Varsity and both indoor and outdoor BUCS Championships. We also attend a range of cross country league and championship matches, competing against runners at all levels.
We train at Swansea University athletics track, which has some of the best facilities in Wales and which has been used for a number of international competitions including the European IPC Championships.
Although we have highly qualified coaches and we enter high profile competitions, we are still a club that caters for everyone whether you are looking for a relaxed social running group, a great day/night out or just to have a bit of fun. We have it all.
As a massive club with an array of different coaches and disciplines, our training is often separate however, we do offer team training sessions where we can and put on a variety of different types of socials to bring the whole club together.
The cross country season traditionally spans across the autumn and winter season and it is a great way for middle distance and long distance athletes to build the endurance and strength in their legs ready to compete on the track. However, the benefits of cross country are endless and so we recommend that even sprinters take part in a couple too!
We offer competition across a variety of leagues, challenges and championships so there will be a race for everyone whether you like to run socially, competitively or you are using it as a bit of winter training for the track, so join the team for some fun and muddy days out.

Track & Field
We have a strong track and field team and thanks to our partnership with Swansea Harriers, we are able to provide a wide range of high level coaching for our athletes covering a variety of athletics disciplines.
Track & Field has two seasons, indoor and outdoor. The indoor season is traditionally held through the winter months while the outdoor is held over the spring and summer months. We offer a variety of competition across both seasons, allowing for athletes to improve on their athletic performance and reach their peak ready for their first major competition.
